Birth Doula
I am a DONA trained Birth Doula covering Clare, Limerick, South Galway and North Tipperary.
I was born and raised in Germany and moved to Ireland in 2011 after finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Social Care. I’ve always passionately supported individuals on their journey – first in my role as a social worker, later as a qualified fitness instructor and most recently as a doula.
My journey into the birth world began with my own pregnancy and the birth of my wonderful daughter in 2016. I've had a very empowering and positive (hospital) birth experience and it profoundly changed my life. Only then I truly realised what an incredible and long lasting impact our childbirth experiences have on our lives as parents and ultimately on our community.
As a doula my goal is to support you on your unique journey - whether you want to give birth at home or in a hospital, without medication, with an epidural or a Caesarean birth. It's your journey - I'm not there to make decisions for you or judge your choices. I'm there to wholeheartedly support you in whichever way you need.
I am involved in a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group, which I find incredibly valuable, and have a special interest in meditation and hypnobirthing. Our mind is such an amazing tool that can greatly help you shape the positive birth you’re longing for.
As a fitness instructor with an additional qualification in pre- and postnatal fitness, I’m absolutely amazed by the human body and its ability to grow a new human life, adapt during pregnancy and ultimately give birth.
I’m excited to accompany families on this exciting journey and support them every step of the way.
