Post Partum Doula.
Hi, I’m Dee Burke. Mama of two, aged 7 and 4. Living in Clare, from Offaly originally. I’ve been interested in birth and post partum , since having my own babies. I found the first few weeks of mother hood, quite lonely. I really struggled. I found great friendship in my local breastfeeding support group, and parent toddler group, but it made me realise just how little support there is in the post partum period.
My friend who had a postpartum doula, told me how wonderful they were, and I knew that was what I wanted to do . I have been a stay at home parent, volunteering with a breastfeeding support group, and I feel I want to do more to help families in the intense post partum period. I am looking forward to working with families, in that special time of their lives. I am a very calm, punctual, level headed person. I will be available to families in Clare, Limerick, North Tipperary and South Galway. I’ve been trained with DONA international, and am currently working towards certification.
